Great for tea partiesJul 20, 2010
By M. Campen My 4 year old received this for her birthday and loves it. She enjoys pouring out the mix & baking the brownies; she then asks what kind you want & tops it for you. The oven mitt is a nice touch too! You receive 6 of each topping--great for making patterns. The velcro that attaches them seems very durable. The box is heavy cardboard so it will last (but may not as long as the rest of the set). Only complaint is wish the large box it comes in had a lid so it could all be stored together but we'll just put it in a tub.

LOVE Melissa and Doug Wooden Foods!Nov 09, 2010
By Kim LOVE all 5 of the M&D wooden food sets we have so far, hope to get them ALL! I got this for my 2 1/2 and 5 yr old daughters and they just love it. We have the cookie set as well and they tend to fight over it and the oven mitt, so now they each have a baked goods set to play with. THey make my husband and I brownies and cookies every night.
There are 3 different frostings you can use, mix and match, or make all the brownies the same. Velcro is so durable, comes with "knife" to cut them and then a spatula to serve them, and of course the M&D oven mitt. The box is what I'm so impressed with. I thought from the outside of the package, it was just a cheap thin piece of cardboard brownie box; but I was so wrong! It is a heavy duty cardboard with the cutest "ingredients and nutrition" list, you simply MUST read if if you buy it, how clever, I never would have thought to even read it, but something caught my eye and I started reading it. REally cute! Plus its great storage for all the extra toppings that you don't use on your brownies.
Highly Recommend, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Melissa and Doug food sets actually.

Who doesn't like brownies?May 17, 2011
By Samuel Gerry This was the first M&D play food we gave our daughter, and she loved it. The velcro may be a bit strong for a 2 year old, but we improvised. There is velcro on every side of the brownies, on the bottom of the toppings, and on the cookie sheet. My daughter had a tough time trying to cut the brownies and take them out, because she's fighting with velcro on 3 sides. To solve the problem, I put some of the extra brownie toppings on the bottom of the brownies so they don't stick to the brownie tray. This made it a lot easier for her to get the goodies out of the tray, but she looked at me like I had no clue how to make brownies when she saw there were toppings on both sides. All the actual brownie pieces fit inside the included box, which actually has a nutritional table printed on the side. There's plenty of ways to use this to teach numbers and motor skills, and kids just love wearing the oven mit.

Great for play kitchensFeb 09, 2011

We love this toy. My daughters love it in. Their pretend kitchen and I love it because it stands up to constant play. There are a lot of pieces which is a bit of a pain, but we kept the box and store them in there. Love Melissa and Doug toys!

Wonderful funJan 04, 2011
By SEW Grammie I bought this for my 6 year old grand daughter's birthday, even though she is really on the verge of out growing this kind of toy - so I THOUGHT! She has always enjoyed 'cooking' for us, taking orders and serving us on her play plates, and I have younger grand children too, so I figured we would get good use out of them either way. Oh my gosh, she and her OLDER sister have so much fun playing with these brownies and other Melissa & Doug play food (we also got the cookiesMelissa & Doug Slice and Bake Cookie Set, and fruit crateMelissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Cutting Fruit Crate)! They LOVE the mix and match icing tops, and 'cutting' the fruit to serve. The cookie and brownie pans are just a wee bit big to fit in the play kitchen she has (they may fit in some), but that didn't stop her, she quickly transformed a kitchen chair into an 'oven', closing the 'oven' by pushing it under the table - so these toys do NOT remove the need for imagination, but rather enhance it I think! All items pack away nicely too.
