Great shoes to promote proper walking, excellent qualitySep 07, 2009

"Keep it HUGE"
I'm a big fan of less is more when it comes to physical development. From what I've read, barefoot walking is very important to allow the development of proper body mechanics. Many shoe makers claim to have developed shoes based on the mechanics of the bare foot, but they inevitably beef up their shoes to the point where it is no longer close. These shoes are the baby equivalent to adult Nike Frees, or Five Finger Vibrams. My 18mo old's balance and "agility" seem to be outpacing her peers, and I think this shoe has had a lot to do with it. For example, when she first started walking, grandma and everyone else got her all kinds of shoes, from Nike's to no-brands. Even though she had already been walking fine in her Mini Shoez, when she put on the Nike's she was falling down all over the place. My thought, was that because of the thicker sole, she lost all the extra proprioception that these shoes afforded her. The mini shoez have a more gripping tread on the bottom as compared to the infant robeez. This allows good grip on any surface. I've used them outside regularly with her, alternating with stride rites for anything more than around a block, or when terrain might be a little rougher, like in a park. In daycare, they are her usual shoes, mostly because they are her favorite. Only after about 4 months did the sole start to wear, which was right when she needed a new pair! Too bad they only go up to size 5.

Super cute, but not as flexible as other RobeezNov 26, 2009
By Unity Dienes The sole of these shoes is made of plastic, not leather like all the other Robeez I've seen, and that makes them quite a bit stiffer than most. Also, because of the velcro-strap styling, the shoe doesn't fit the same as other Robeez and I find that my daughter can kick these off whereas normal Robeez stay put.
Still, she has gotten many compliments on these shoes, and since she only wears them when she's all dressed up the problems are pretty minor. I'm glad I got them!
So cute!Jul 05, 2011
By Momof2DR These shoes are adorable and hold up so nicely to a toddler's wear. Love Robeez products and these were no disappointment!

By Kristin These shoes are comfortable and nice for beginning walkers. The reason I only gave them 4 stars is a problem I have with the design. Why is the sticky part of the velcro mounted on the shoe instead of the strap? This causes it to be exposed and pull my clothes every time I hold my daughter. There may be some good reason for this, but I see it as a design flaw.
Great shoes!Mar 11, 2011
By techmom I love Robeez mini shoez. They give just enough support right now, since she is just learning to walk. I have another pair that I just love. These are great as well, the only thing is they are a bit stiffer than the other pair I have. They look great with my daughter's dresses.
